Sherry Cervi won the WPRA World Championship for the third time in her career. Cervi, of Marana, AZ cllinched the title Friday night, then punctuated it with a 13.75 seconds run that was worth $7,344.00, a fourth place check in the go-round. Sherry won $120,000 at the NFR and finished the season with $299,893. Sherry also won the other Gold Buckles in 1995 and 1999. Also on 12/10/10, the fastest barrel racing run ever at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in the Thomas & Mack Center happen Thursday night during the eight-go-round. World standings leader Sherry Cervi rode MP Meter My Hay around the pattern in 13.48 seconds, beating the previous mark of 13.52 seconds set in 2006 by Brandie Halls.
