The 2015
Road to the Horse held at the Kentucky Horse Park has always been known to keep
the audience on the edge of their seats. This year is no exception. Never
before have the stakes been so high. In 2015 instead of the competitors
training just one young Quarter Horse from the 666 Ranch, they will have to
choose two different horses from the Remuda. Each horse will have to complete
the entire competition including the obstacle course. An accumulative score
from the accomplishments of both colts will determine the winner. This will
force each trainer to show how they adjust their techniques to accommodate
different personalities.
This year the three time undefeated
Road to the Horse Champion, Chris Cox, will once again dazzle the audience with
his winning horse whispering style. He won the event in 2007, 2008 and 2011. He
has taken the title each time he has stepped into the ring.
Chris will be competing against the
2014 Wild Card Champion, and our sponsored rider, Jim Anderson. He captured the world’s attention in
2014 by not only being the Wild Card Champion, but he also went on to win
the main event.
This year another Wild Card winner will
be selected and will end up competing against Chris Cox and Jim Anderson. The winner receives the grand prize of $100,000.00!
It’s twice the excitement, this year
with twice the horse power and twice the horsemanship.
To top it off, a number of fans names
will be arbitrarily drawn from all of the people who purchased tickets. These
fans will be asked to choose a colt from the 666 Ranch Remuda, they will select
one of the colts that he or she predicts will be the winner. Whichever fan has
chosen the winning colt, they will receive a check for $10,000.00.
